In this fun and spooky episode, we go back in time for a stroll that will bring memories to your ears. We hope they aren’t too scary.
But first, we want to invite you to our upcoming virtual event on convenient entertainment interfaces. Have you ever wanted to listen to radio stations, podcasts, perhaps audio books, and other audio in one accessible, convenient interface? Then this event is for you. We’ll discuss several examples of software that makes listening to all your entertainment at once a snap, including one app that isn’t even available to the public yet. And yes, there will definitely be demos along the way. Join us on Thursday, October 29 at 8:30 PM ET for this fun overview, and bring your thoughts and questions. It will be recorded if you can’t attend live, so please leave the seats for those who can. Register your seat at this link. We’d love to have you there.
Next, chris takes us back a few decades for a listen to some of the voices we use to have on our assistive devices. How many of these did you use yourself? We hope you have fun listening to our thoughts on hearing these voices after several years. If you want some of these voices for yourself you can check several of them out at this GitHub link. If you want the DoubleTalk voice, it can be found here. Happy listening.
Because we’re releasing this just before trick-or-treating time, we also share thoughts on ways to light up your house for visitors, especially at night. Lights are also super important to make your house look lived in, even if you don’t care about lights yourself. We get that. We talk about our own setup, too, in case it’s helpful to you. Just because some of us don’t use lights doesn’t mean other people don’t need them LOL!
We hope you like the spooky music and sound effects in this episode, too. We had fun with this one! Happy Halloween! Until November, thanks for listening!
